Canadian Smocked Dress

Hi, here is a dress I made for my Grand Daughter. This is the first time I am doing Canadian Smocking. I have been googling and found this blog in which Erin explained it so well. http://patchworkunderground.com .
There is another video which shows how to do . http://vani-testblog2.blogspot.com/ .  So with both these tutes I could make it. THANK YOU Erin and Vani  for your tutorials.

Canadian Smocking on  Silk material. It is really  easy once you get the idea to stitch. This stitch is called Braided Smocking.
Forming  in to a Dress was more challenging than doing the smocking.I had to baste stitch before cutting the neck ,shoulder, armhole and waist.
I did box pleat for the skirt.
 Added a bow later.

I did smocking on sleeve also which was tough to assemble.
And the back with buttons and a bow tie.

How's my  Model?

Have a Nice Day
